What is Climate Bridges?
“Climate Bridges” is a groundbreaking project highlighting the role that arts and culture plays in climate change and sustainability through the personal stories and creative processes of Asian Amerians artists and artists from China. Through an original documentary, a nine-month arts fellowship, and public programming in both China and the U.S., we empower artists to bridge cultural divides, foster empathy, and raise awareness about the imperative for global sustainability..
Why Climate Bridges?
The escalating climate crisis presents a monumental challenge that demands urgent, collective action across borders. The United States and China, as the world's largest carbon emitters, have a unique responsibility and opportunity to lead global efforts in combating climate change. The arts hold transformative potential to bridge cultural and political divides, foster mutual understanding, and inspire collective action. Showcasing the meaningful contributions by artists responding to the climate crisis will help to illuminate the similarities in the struggles we face, the critical role that art can play, and the need to work together for the betterment of all.
